What exactly is an e-bird “hotspot”? According to the eBird website, hotspots are public birding locations created by eBird users. They are not required to be an “outstanding location for birds or birding” but a place that people can regularly visit to see birds. However, your backyard doesn’t qualify!
The Quebec hotspots ranked by the number of observed species this year to date are live in the frame below. Select any of the listed locations to view the species list, a handy feature also lets you generate a printable checklist for the location. There is even a link for Google map directions, birding really can’t be more convenient! Unless of course, if you go on a BPQ field trip led by an expert birder!
