Feather Fact #7
The number of feathers a bird has depends on its size. Songbirds have between 2000-4000 feathers while Hummingbirds have the fewest. Some patient person determined that a Ruby-throated Hummingbird had 940 of them. However, they weren’t as patient as whoever counted the feathers of the Tundra Swan! If you missed it, read Feather Fact #1 to find out how many that was.
BPQ’s Feather Fest takes place on September 23rd at Parc des Rapides in Lasalle.
