BPQ Funding for Teens to Attend Bird Banding Camps

Do you know a teen who’s crazy about birds?

BPQ’s Education Committee will provide financial assistance to Quebec teens wishing to attend either of two summer bird banding camps located in some of Canada’s richest birding territory.

Camp Ornithologique des Jeunes Explos

Explos-Nature’s Camp Ornithologique des Jeunes Explos takes place August 11th to 16th in Tadoussac, Quebec. This camp is for teens aged 13 to 17 who are passionate about birds and/or wildlife and ideally have some knowledge about Quebec birds. Camp attendance is limited to 8 participants and activities are conducted both in the field and in a workshop setting.

BPQ will reimburse the $450 registration fee and transportation costs within Quebec for one participant. Please see the Explois-Nature website for full details about the camp and how to register. http://www.explosnature.ca/camp-ornithologique/

2019 Doug Tarry Young Ornithologists’ Workshop

BPQ will reimburse the transportation costs for one Quebec teen to travel to Long Point, Ontario to attend the Doug Tarry Young Ornithologists’ Workshop taking place from August 3rd to 11th. This unique camp allows 6 teens from across Canada to experience nature and ornithology firsthand in a research-oriented setting. Applications are due by April 30th. Please see the Bird Studies Canada website for full details and to download the application form. https://www.birdscanada.org/longpoint/index.jsp?targetpg=lpboyow&lang=EN
